Last night the Travonna Coffee House “Grounds for Humanity” Haiti Benefit was buzzing with music, love, coffee talk, art, and giving. At one point, I looked around the room and felt like I was going to cry because of the AMAZING turn out and support of the Columbus community.
The Music line-up was more than superb! I can’t even tell you how refreshing and awesome the music was. You could just tell there was a lot of heart put into everyone’s performance.. IT WAS SO GOOD!
There was also a VERY successful art auction that evening! Local Artists in Columbus donated there art to sell to raise money for Haiti. We raised Over $300 for the art auction alone! I got a pretty fantastic piece that I can’t wait to hang up in my living room. It will be my constant reminder to pray for Haiti, and keep seeking ways to reach out to them.
Throughout the evening there was probably 200 people that came.. or more.. I’m not sure! $1,100 was raised for Haiti, a number I didn’t even think was possible! But yet again, the people of Columbus banned together to do something spectacular and blew my expectations.
THANK YOU to everyone who came, Played music, donated art and more! You are loved and appreciated!

Today I had the amazing opportunity of going to a special Luncheon about Human Sex Trafficking (Modern day slavery). I cried as a listened to Statistics, Stories and watched videos about this issue. Many of you know Human Trafficking has been on my heart for a while now, and I even made a music video to spread awareness about it. I just can’t get it out of my head!
I was recently invited by a a friend to sing at a Conference/Justice week going on at OSU about Human Trafficking, and my breath was taken away! It is going to be a huge event in April, with a “walk of tears”, Live exhibits, lectures, and more about this issue of Human Trafficking. I can’t wait to be involved! So many things are falling into place that I am just amazed to see what happens next.
I met so many people at the Luncheon today. A lady who works for the Salvation Army, A lady who was once in Human Trafficking but escaped and started a recovery home in Ohio, A lady who went with her children a 5 boys to India to help with Support and recovery of Trafficked women.. It was soo good!
Look out for new updates coming your way. The Music Video for Priceless turned out BEAUTIFUL and I can’t wait to share it with you! We are still trying to figure out a Launch Date, but will keep you informed with the latest!

Hello!
Exciting news!! I viewed the rough draft of the Priceless Music Video last night, and it LOOKS AWESOME! It was really neat to see all of the people who helped out, and I got goose bumps thinking about what this video could do.
Thank you sooo much to all the extras who came and volunteered their time and lovely faces!!
It should be completely finished by the end of August! They are just adding a couple more pieces to it. Like an interview with a woman who came out of the trafficking industry and some powerful stats to help make people aware of what is really going on.
On a more random note, I’ve been playing at the Thirsty Ear Tavern every Wednesday night for the Open Mic night with Chris Traut, and it has been a BLAST! I’ve met a lot of great musicians, and lots of contacts. If you are ever in C-bus and want to hear some great music, got to the Thirsty Ear!!
Also! Next week I am heading to Nashville for the IMMERSE conference! It is an amazing conference that has tons of workshops on the music industry, song writing, management, labels etc. It is going to be so great to learn from industry pros for a whole week!
Until next time..

I have been a part of the crazy cool site ourstage.com for quite a while now. OurStage is a community of Fans and Musicians that can vote on and rate your song in their honest opinion, and you move up and down in the rankings accordingly. One of my songs “Battle Scars” made it in 2nd place ranking in February! Horaay! Thanks to everyone who voted! It was really neat to see.
I was also informed that OurStage did an Editorial Feature on Battle Scars and my music too! It is pretty neat if you want to check it out go to:
http://blog.ourstage.com/2009/03/16/heather-evans-battle-scars-are-healing/
Or you can read it below!
“Rising singer/songwriter Heather Evans is no stranger to OurStage. After she joined OurStage in 2008 at the age of 21, her soulful and strong voice was recognized immediately by fans on OurStage. She fought for quite a while though, before she took a Top 10 spot in February’s Indie Rock rankings. An avid singer who’s mature sound carries her experiences well, Heather recorded her first full album when she was just fifteen. That album, “Impatient Heart” has since sold many thousands of copies.
Incorporating her humble and honest nature, Heather often sings of her strong personal faith. “Battle Scars”, which finished 2nd in Indie Rock in February on OurStage, carries a particular message of staying true to yourself.
“Ride on, you soldier of the Lord … Battle scars will heal, they will heal”
Hailing from central Ohio, Heather doesn’t just sing about her own origins and ordeals. She is also active in charities and benefits to help end human trafficking and sex trafficking in Asia and Africa. You can read more about the organizations she works with, Shared Hope International and Hear The Cry.
Check out more information about Heather Evans on her profile, or check out her album on iTunes.” OURSTAGE

There is also a Human Trafficking Awareness show coming up April 24th at Ohio Northern University. It is going to be a really cool show, Some of my friends are playing at it Peti Banfe, Jesse Burkett to name a few! I am super excited to be apart of something I really passionate about!
I have been on quite the roller coaster lately. I would say a little bit like Cedar Point’s “The Raptor”, lots of twists and turns with your feet dangling in the air and lots of going upside down. Ha! So lots of really neato things are happening, but I am also meeting a lot of challenges too! I’ve been growing a lot, and sometimes growing hurts, and finding who I am… Finding my voice. Let’s just say, you haven’t heard the last of me yet! The more I do the more I know I have to do. Does that make sense? Anyways! I am really excited to see where this roller coaster (life) takes me.
HERE WE GOOOO!!!!!

Hello Friends!
So Here’s an update on the Priceless video…(We need your help ladies!!)
I met with the guys at The Palestra (www.palestra.net) this past Thursday to kind of nail down some more details for the video. We talked about the story for the vid, and as everyone was talking about their ideas I got so excited because everything everyone was saying was EXACTLY what I wanted this video to be and much MORE. I can’t wait to start casting the key parts in the video!!
If you haven’t already heard, I had this idea to make a music video of one of my songs on the latest record called PRICELESS to spread awareness about human trafficking.*(Listen to it on www.myspace.com/heatherevansmusic)* I had an idea, with the help of Brett my husband, to have a girl carry a play dough heart with her, as symbolism of her love and soul that she gives to person after person who end up mistreating her greatest possession, her heart..
Brian had this great idea for the ending, the climax of the video, to have the band playing in an empty warehouse with a bunch (50-100) women of all ages holding their very own play dough heart, and the camera panning around the room to show they are not alone, and that this effects women of all ages.
**Thats where I need your help!!! We need women of ALL ages to help us shoot this powerful scene. We are planning on shooting the video sometime in April (Date to be determined) and if you are a woman, and are interested in being apart of this video and this cause, please message me your email address so we can keep in contact with you about the specifics. If you are under the age of 18 you will need your parents permission to be in the video, and we will send you a release form as soon as possible for them to sign.

Yesterday was fantastically hectic! :)
Me and Brett scrambled to finish up some CD stuff, and ended up doing a magical photo shoot! It all started with our neighborhood laundry mat and a light. we came up with some super cool shots and decided we would put a few on the new cd. They were exactly what I was looking for, representing the struggle between light and dark. These same themes run all through out my new CD FOR MY GENERATION, and I wanted the cover and pictured to have the same power as the songs. The talented Adam Hines is starting the artwork this Thursday, and I am pumped to see what he comes up with! It has been a grewling couple of months waiting for the cd to be complete, and now that it is almost done, I am filled with joy and excitement! Yesterday I got a call from my buddy from www.thepalestra.com about doing another video shoot for a Pilot for a new show on FOX 28 they are doing. So, next Tuesday I am going to hang out with them and sing a few new tunes for the Pilot! What fun!
I love those guys (and Gals) at the Palestra! More to come soon!

Another fun month of creating!
Rick just sent me the finished songs, and they sound amazing! We are sending the songs to be Mastered in the next week or so. There are 7 songs on the CD, and each one has its own character and story.
From the way the instruments accent the vocals, to the lyrics and harmonies. It’s something I am soo happy and proud to show to people. Something that will hopefully encourage and give hope to those who need it, and that is exciting!
I also did the first part of a photo shoot that we are doing for the record, with Nick Fancher (www.shutterthink.com) an amazing photographer and friend of me and my husband! We did it at the Park of Roses in a really cool field we found around sunset into the night. We are going to do more sunset shots on top of a building downtown this week too! Nick had the building idea since the title of the CD is going to be “FOR MY GENERATION”. It is really fun to be apart of the LOOK of the album as well as the SOUND. Can’t wait to share the new pics with you!
Well there is a nice little update for ya! There is wayyyy more going on behind the scenes, but I want to keep SOME things a surprise! I get soo excited to share. More to come soon!

It’s been a fun month! Me and Rick May just finished up vocals and Accoustic Guitar in the studio, and all that is left is mixing and sending it to get mastered!
Over all I am MORE than happy with all the songs. Each song has its own character and Rick did a FABULOUS job at knowing what I wanted them to sound like. I am thrilled as you can tell!
We’re having a friend, who is a graphic designer, design the CD. It is going to be really fun colaborating on the visual side too!
More to come soon!

Hey everyone! Exciting stuff keeps happening! Because of all the interest in my music from different labels and publishers, we’re hiring a New York based lawyer. Posting a new video today. The Ohio News Network came out to The PowerPlant Multimedia Studios where I record and did an interview and recorded me playing in the studio. Okay…finally time to write a bit about what’s up.
My music is really getting out there fast, and it is SO exciting. Besides the TV appearances on NBC 4 and The Ohio News Network (CLICK HERE to see videos)…we are getting great amounts of interest from all kinds of really HUGE record labels. As I type, my music is being reviewed, by request, at some major record labels. Maverick, Lava, Virgin, Capitol, Hollywood, EMI…all of these labels listening to MY music…amazing! We’ve also gotten some really cool interest from some publishers in LA who want to place a few of my songs in some TV shows like ‘Joan of Arcadia,’ ‘One Tree Hill,’ and ‘The O.C.’ How cool is THAT!

I played live on CD101 the morning of The Basement gig,,which was sweet too! Thank you SO much Joe Weasel! That was my third time playing live on CD101…CD101 Rocks!
